There is nothing I enjoy more than a beautiful fall evening at home….cozying up on the couch for a good movie, making fall treats, and carving pumpkins for our porch.  This year I “upped the ante” a bit by making one of Adam’s favorite snacks…caramel apples!  I’ve made caramel apples before, but this by far was the simplest, fastest, & most fun way ever!!  Tonight we enjoyed them in a more romantical (yes, that’s a Stephanie-ism) way by making a Caramel Apple Fondue Bar!

Caramel Apple Fondue Bar

We started with our favorite apples…Honeycrisp!  Who doesn’t love to bite into a crunchy sweet apple especially after it’s been doused in caramel, sprinkles, Heath Bar, or chocolate chips…or maybe all three??!! Why not?

I bought some of his favorite caramel apple fixings, the small “caramel balls” that are already pre-unwrapped (such a time saver ?), and some cake pop sticks at, you guessed it, Target…my home away from home.

I then washed and sliced the apples, and pierced the cake pop sticks through the apple slices vertically.

{A side tip: If you are making this ahead of time or going to have it sitting out for guests to enjoy, try sprinkling your apples with lemon juice to keep them from turning brown!}

Once the caramel has melted, it’s time to dip and enjoy!  I poured the toppings into cute little ice cream sundae bowls to look schnazzy, cause that’s how we roll. ?

The toppings we chose were Marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, Heath bar crumbles, and Halloweeen sprinkles…but, the possibilities are endless!

We snacked on the Caramel Apple Fondue Bar  while we watched the hockey game (Let’s Go, Red Wings) and carved pumpkins for the porch…which always turned into a competition in its own way.

Pumpkin Carving

Adam did an amazing Peanuts jack o’ lantern for their 50th Anniversary, and I carved a traditional face….cause I was over creativity and didn’t feel like having my hands inside a pumpkin for hours! ?
