Just this past Memorial Day weekend, my hubby and I were heading up to Frankenmuth, Michigan’s Little Bravaria. We go up every year for their Annual Dog Bowl & Balloon Festival (which I’ll share with you in blog posts soon). I had noticed on Instagram that the Hello Kitty Cafe was going to be at a local mall that day, and lo and behold, it just so happened to be on our route up north. So, we packed our bags, got in the car, and began our adventure up north for the weekend.
The plan was to make a quick stop at the mall, buy some macaroons from the glorious hot pink van, & be on our way. But boy, our day turned out entirely different than our perfectly planned excursion…
My nieces loved watching the Disney movie, Tangled , when they were little, and if I was being completely honest, I loved watching it too! We’d make cupcakes and decorate pink and purple tiaras with jewels and stickers, & dance around our living room singing all the songs and reciting all the lines. Our favorite part of the movie was the floating lantern scene, when Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder are in the canoe singing. I thought that type of scene only existed in the movies, until I saw advertisements for The Lantern Fest on Facebook.
I knew that one day I’d have to go to The Lantern Fest to witness this spectacle in person, and so when I heard The Lantern Fest was coming to Michigan, I jumped at the chance to go. This past May, just a few weeks ago, we experienced one of the most beautiful and unexpected nights of our lives.
Hershey is like no other place I have ever visited, hence why it’s called “the sweetest place on earth”. There is literally an ode to chocolate at every turn. From the street lights shaped like Hershey’s Kisses, to the complimentary chocolate bar we received when we arrived at the Hershey Lodge, every detail was perfect and special. And, with several amazing places to explore and unique experiences you can only find in Hershey, it is definitely a must-see place for every family.
If you’ve been racking your brain for an extra special place to take your family this year on a vacation, look no further that Hershey. It won’t disappoint.
So, come along with me, as I recollect our quick and unforgettable trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania. I’ll share with you where we stayed, where we ate, and the experiences that made this trip absolutely amazing.
As we rounded the bluff that sunny blue skyed October day, The Ocean House stood tall with grandeur before us. Sparkling waves, and heaping colorful flowers swaying in the cool ocean breezes, were the backdrop for the yellow mansion that awaited us. I was instantly enamoured with this place as we were led into our balcony suite overlooking the Atlantic. This was Rhode Island at its finest. And, this was my dream New England Beach Getaway….

As 2017 is fast approaching, my mind has been reeling with everything I’d love to accomplish in the New Year. I’m a confessed serial goal setter, and barely ever see them to completion. I bet I’m not alone.
I love making New Years Resolutions. I love the feeling of a brand new beginning, and I love taking the time to jot down what I’d like to do, see, and conquer in the new year!
But, how do I…well…we 😉…make measurable goals that we can keep and actually get to check off our to do list at the end of the year?
Well, I went to “All-Knowing” Pinterest to find out, and I’ve got the answers for you here! So, let’s get started on our New Years Resolutions/Goals for 2017, & make it our best year yet!
As Thanksgiving Day preparations are in full swing at our house, I can’t help but think about the very first Thanksgiving. On our recent Road Trip through New England, we spent a day exploring the rich history in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It was an unforgettable day, and definitely a must for anyone’s bucket list. I’d like to take you on a tour with me today of Plimouth Plantation, The Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock, Burial Hill, the Monument to the Forefathers, and more!
So, pull up a comfy chair, grab a pumpkin spice latte or hot cider, and take this trip with me back to the beginning of America and our very First Thanksgiving! The turkey day prep can wait a little while longer!
My sister and I have done 4 different Color Runs over the last few years. But, this fall was our first time ever trying the Glow In The Dark Color Run Night…and it was an absolute blast! It is an epic night filled with music and disco balls, bubbles, black head lights, hot pink tutus, and a ton of laughs! I loved it, and can’t wait to do it again next year!
I’ve been promising to share the details of our New England Road Trip with you, and here it is…the first of many posts about this awesome trip! This Road Trip ended up being the pinnacle of our Pre-Baby Bucket List Busting Year! Friends and family were so excited to share in this, and travel with us via social media, on our 8 state, 13 day, 3000+ mile journey through New England. I had friends begging me to share with them the itinerary and the details, on none other than a blog such as this, and here we are finally! So, let’s talk about our unforgettable day in Rhode Island. Enjoy…
As a proud Michigander, I am thrilled to see the revitalization of Downtown Detroit. If you live in the area, or are planning a visit, you have to visit the city. There are so many new businesses, restaurants, and shops. It’s a beautiful place to be. My sister and I saw that first hand during a visit to a pop up Luke’s Diner in Midtown and an afternoon spent at the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts).
