As a proud Michigander, I am thrilled to see the revitalization of Downtown Detroit. If you live in the area, or are planning a visit, you have to visit the city. There are so many new businesses, restaurants, and shops. It’s a beautiful place to be. My sister and I saw that first hand during a visit to a pop up Luke’s Diner in Midtown and an afternoon spent at the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts).
As I nestle into my comfy couch, with my second cup ‘o joe for the day and a brownie from Luke’s Diner, I am reminded how bucket list opportunities sometimes “pop up” when we least expect. And that is exactly what happened today.
If you haven’t heard yet, or been bombarded with pictures and status updates on social media, several coffee shops around the country today turned into Luke’s Diner from Gilmore Girls.
The Monthful Challenge is a concept I stumbled upon on a fellow bloggers page, and absolutely fell in love with the idea. If you have a Bucket List as long as mine, and have a hard time finding time to reach your goals, then you’ll really appreciate this challenge.
Last year (2015), was what I consider to be my “Bucket List Busting Year”. After suffering a miscarriage the year before after 5 long years of infertility, I was approaching 2015 thinking it was going to be one of the worst years of my life. The constant reminders of what could have been were always on my mind.
I thought I would spend most of that year caught up in pregnancy reminders from apps on my phone, & devastated at every Thursday that passed as I counted down the weeks to my impending “almost” due date, July 4th.
Instead, much to my surprise, I had one of the best years of my life thanks to the Grace of God and the prayers of family and friends.
My Journey to Mommyhood has been long and hard. Patience, after all, is not one of my virtues. (Clearly God is trying to teach me a lesson on that!) 😉
But, one thing I’ve learned along the way, is not to put things off for your fertility…
Are you a 5K newbie? Or have you seen those amazing pictures your friends post after The Color Run, and thought to yourself “that looks like a blast”? Have you ever wondered what you’d look like in blue skin like a Smurf, or orange skin like an oompaloompa? Have you ever wondered what a Runicorn is? Or have you ever had the hankering to wear a glittery sparkly tutu, and be surrounded by like minded kid-at-heart people? Then, you’ve come to the right place! I think The Color Run should be on everybody’s Bucket List.
