Winter is in full force here in Michigan. It’s been extremely cold…colder than Alaska to be exact. And, we’ve seen quite a bit of glistening snow. Below are several of my favorite winter essentials that help me get through this often times gloomy and blustery season. Enjoy!
I love goal planning and making resolutions just like you, but have you stopped and celebrated the year we just finished? Have you paused to reflect on those days, and express gratitude for what you accomplished, experienced, and cultivated?
Today, I’m going to share with you a quick and easy photo challenge, to help you relive this past year. Can I encourage you, sweet friend, to then print these photos or add them to a photo book? I’ll show you how in this post. Let’s take some time right now to celebrate 2017 & add photos of our lives into our homes, shall we?
Are you ready to celebrate? Let’s get started!
You can create a vision board easily and display it throughout the year to encourage and inspire you. All you have to do is collect some favorite photos and quotes and pick a color scheme. Then, simply place those pictures in a template that you love and whallah!
I used PicMonkey, my favorite photo editing program, to create my vision board for this year, and below I’ll show you how to it too! Let’s get started on this meaningful project, shall we?

Binge watching ‘Fixer Upper’ on Saturday mornings has become a new favorite in our home. Even my husband watches the show with me!! He and I both get a kick out of Chip’s shenanigans, and I’m practically drooling by the end of each show looking at Jo’s beautiful designs.
Chip and Jo Jo are definitely #marriagegoals, aren’t they? I love how they can be goofy with each other, yet parent their children gracefully and run an enormous business together flawlessly.
I think Joanna and I would be quick friends, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’ve day dreamed of sitting on their farmhouse porch, sipping sweat tea with her, devouring some cupcakes, and talking about everything home and family. And, in this elaborate day-dream, I see Chip and Adam wrangling the cattle out in the pasture…Adam getting his inner cowboy on. Those 2 goofballs would be knee-deep in mud, while Joanna and I shared stories around her kitchen island with subway tile and greenery in the background.
I guess I’ve thought about this more than I realized! Ha!
This adorable family has graced our television so often, that they feel like close friends. So, it’s no surprise that when I heard this week that this upcoming season of Fixer Upper will be their last, I was sad. Actually, ‘sad’ is an understatement.
But, if there’s anything that we have learned from Chip & Jo, it would be that family comes first. Not even a popular HGTV show will cause them to compromise their family values. And, I don’t know about you, but for me it just causes me to love them more.
So, today I’d love to share with you 5 Things I Learned About Marriage from this amazing, God-fearing couple. What a powerful testimony our marriage can be…
My family and friends know that I love, love, LOVE my Erin Condren Life Planner. I use mine almost like a scrapbook. I decorate it with stickers, lots of color, pictures, ticket stubs, and more. Using Erin Condren’s Life Planner has helped me organize my entire life and be way more productive.
Today I’d love to share with you 25 of my favorite accessories for the Life Planner that I use every single day. These accessories are definitely worth the money. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
I have been reading a lot lately about the Danish tradition of Hygge, and I’ve completely fallen in love with the concept. Just in case you’ve never heard of Hygge before, Hygge is best defined as,
“the art of building sanctuary and community, of inviting closeness and paying attention to what makes us feel open-hearted and alive; to create well-being, connection, and warmth; a feeling of belonging to the moment and to each other; celebrating every day.”
Doesn’t that describe what we all want in our life, and isn’t it really your main goal as a mom? To create meaningful memories and traditions; build a cozy, creative home for your family; & be able to cherish moments with your family each and every day?
Well, today I’m going to give you 5 Action Steps you can take today to be on your Hygge-living way!
Let’s get started….
Can you believe how fast the summer is flying by? I can hardly believe that September is around the corner. This has been a different summer for us. Adam’s uncle passed away in June, and it kind of rocked the whole family. This summer we’ve tried to continue doing activities that we know and love, because we know Uncle Doug would want us too. Even though most days I’m sure we’d rather just lay around the house and be sad.
Here’s some of our happenings over the last few weeks. I hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as possible too!
My family & I love doing The Color Run every summer. It’s become one of my favorite yearly traditions, and this years Dream Tour was nothing short of amazing. The weather was perfect. The sherbet colors of yellow, purple, blue, and coral pink were new and different. And, the party at the finish line was extra fun.
The Color Run is the best family 5K in my opinion. Here’s why we love it so much, and why I’m sure you will too!
