DIY Rose Petal Sugar Scrub

As my beautiful Valentine’s Day roses begin to wilt, I wanted to find a way to preserve their beauty longer.  So, of course, I went to all knowing Pinterest, and lo and behold, I found a simple DIY Sugar Scrub using rose petals.  The rose petals add a beautiful color and scent to this sugar scrub.  Not to mention, this sugar scrub makes even the worst winter hands feels soft and smooth.  Here’s the simple 3 ingredient recipe….

Sedona Taphouse Date Night

There’s a new restaurant in town called Sedona Taphouse.  We noticed it while driving home one night, and decided to check it out.  Not only do they have Cactus Lemonade, 200+ beers on tap, award-winning clam chowder, and salted caramel cheesecake.  But, they also offer a “Steak Out For Charity” special every Monday night where you get black angus steak, for only $7 and all proceeds go to a local charity.  A delicious dinner that’s helping to support a local need, that’s also affordable…what could be better than that?!

Polar Express Hot Chocolate

Whenever I watch Polar Express I think of hot chocolate & my niece, Brianna.  She loved Polar Express so much when she was little that she wanted to watch the movie all year long (which about drove my sister crazy! ?).

One Christmas we took her to Huckelberry Railroad to ride the steam train, and visit Santa.  She was around 4 at the time.  She got her golden ticket, and the conductor stamped it, just like in the movie.  It was magical!

Westview Adventure Farm, Apple Orchard, & Pumpkin Patch

Every fall, we have to visit an apple orchard, pumpkin patch, farm, cider mill, etc. Fall in Michigan is beyond breathtaking and by far my favorite time of the year (except for Christmas).  We can knock all of these activities off the Fall Bucket List in one “fall swoop” at Westview Orchard and Adventure Farm.

Every fall at our house, we carve pumpkins.  We look forward to it, plan for it, get very competitive about it, and so on.  We watch those fancy pumpkin carving shows on Food Network every year, and anticipate our pumpkins to look similar to the expert carvings…but, they really don’t come close.
