Do you have famished, starving kids that barrel through your house after school every day searching for the perfect snack? After all, they’re starving after a busy day of learning, right? I know we all want to feed our kids the healthiest foods possible, but it’s not always easy. Of course they’re prone to grab the first packaged sweet treat they can find. So today, I’m going to share with several healthy snack ideas to curb that after school hunger and nourish your little learners.

After School Snacks That Are Actually Healthy

I’ve gathered some of the cutest and of course simplest after school treats that your kids will absolutely love. These easy recipes will certainly hit the spot with your little ones and prepare them for after school activities, homework, and playtime. And, the best part, all of these recipes are healthy. Ok, maybe a couple of a little sweet, but everything in moderation, right? Which snack recipe will be your family’s new favorite?

Healthy Snack Recipes

  1. Peanut Butter Oatmeal Balls– Energy balls are a great make ahead snack idea that really pack a nutritional punch.
  2. Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Sugar Crisps– This fun treat look so refreshing and delicious, I’m sure it would be gobbled up in no time
  3. Homemade Popsicles– Made with real fruit, these recipes are simple and easy to make ahead of time and store in your freezer for an quick grab and go snack after school.
  4. 3 Ingredient Fruit Roll-Ups– Fruit Roll Ups sure do take me back to my early school days. How about you? And, while the thought of making your own homemade fruit roll ups may a sound a bit too fancy and complicated, believe me when I say these are easy to make and definitely pack a nutritional punch.
  5. Creamy Peanut Butter Dip– This whipped chocolatey dip is a perfect sources of protein. Serve it with your family’s favorite sliced apples.
  6. Crudite Cups with Homemade Dips– Now this healthy snack may sound super fancy, but honestly it may be the simplest of them all. Just pour your kids favorite dips or dressings (i.e. hummus or ranch) into the bottom of smaller mason jars and top with sliced vegetables. Store in the fridge for an easy and healthy grab and go snack. Voila!
  7. Monster Cookie Dough Bites- Oats, peanut butter, mini chocolate chips, and mini M&M’s make this fun after school snack a little sweet and little healthy with lots of fiber and protein. Plus, this cookie dough is safe and fun to eat!
  8. Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars- This simple treat is super easy to make and better than store bought. Mmmm!
  9. Healthy Strawberry Gummies– Like gummy bears only much healthier,
  10. Apple Peanut Butter Nachos– Simply top apples slices with chocolate, peanut butter, mini chocolate chips, or more fruit for a fun snack.
  11. Frozen Yogurt Bark with Fruit- This bark is so easy to make and packs in the protein with Greek yogurt as it’s base. The kids will love this.
  12. Banana Peanut Butter Sushi– So cute & so easy to make!
  13. Homemade Cinnamon Apple Sauce– Perfect for a quick fall snack with those apples you picked at the farm.
  14. Ants On A Log– A quick and easy go-to snack idea that I’m sure we all remember from our childhoods.

  17. Homemade Goldfish Crackers– Who knew making your own goldfish crackers could be so easy and so much more nutritious?
  18. Sour Patch Grapes– this healthy snack also known as “Glitter Grapes” will have the whole family puckering and wanting more
  19. Donut Apples– slice donuts and cut out the core to create circles just like donuts, top with cream cheese and decorate with sprinkles for a little pop of fun on this healthy snack
  20. Pretzel S’mores Bites- these pop-able little bites of goodness with be a favorite go-to snack for the whole family
