Life Lately: Melissa’s Rose Gold Bunny Baby Shower

Bunnies, rose gold, and lots of sparkle are on center-stage in this super cute baby shower theme. I had the opportunity to throw this baby shower just a few weeks ago for my cousin/friend/fellow mother-baby nurse on behalf of our coworkers. I can’t wait to show you all the beautiful details of this adorable shower.

At this baby shower, we celebrated the impending arrival of this cute little munchkin and her gorgeous momma.  Can you see her cute little button nose, chubby cheeks, and adorable grin?

I knew I wanted there to be lots of flowers at this baby shower since the baby’s nursery was done in a floral theme and what could be more girly than pink blooms everywhere, right?  But, when I found out the sweet mommy-to-be loved bunnies when she was a little girl, I knew I had to incorporate them somehow.

These invitations from Confetti Momma on Etsy were the inspiration for the entire shower.  I chose to do the bunnies in a champagne glitter and asked to have the wording changed to incorporate the lyrics to the song “Isn’t She Lovely”.

Thanks to Pinterest and all the coordinating bunny decorations from Confetti Momma, the vision for this baby shower was “born” {pun intended}.

I ordered a bunch of other decorations from Etsy to tie the decor together.  I about died when I opened the box from Confetti Momma and saw all of the rose gold and white woodgrain bunnies.  The decorations were so so cute!

Rose Gold Bunny Decorations

The first decor piece I knew I had to order was this Garden Sign personalized with the baby’s name, Stella.  I chose a baby pink ribbon and champagne gold glitter border.  This Rose Gold Sequin Table Runner was a splurge purchase for the gift table.  Simply, I just had to have it.

These picture frames came from Target, and I used them to decorate the gift table.  I filled the frames with a Printable Watercolor “S” for Stella {Download Here}, a Printable “Isn’t She Lovely” sign {Download Here}, and a photo of sweet Stella’s ultrasound.

The Littlest Bunny Book was an awesome find at Barnes & Noble.  I wanted a cute, girly bunny book to add to this vignette and be a keepsake for baby Stella and this book was absolutely perfect!

The White Woodgrain Bunny Cake Topper was a must from Confetti Momma.  I chose a baby pink fluffy tale for this sweet bunny to match the theme. It looked perfect atop the gorgeous lemon raspberry bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cake.  The addition of the pink peony was a special little touch from the cake shop.

We finished off the tablescape with the most beautiful rose gold confetti that included matching white grain bunnies and rose gold candle votives!  They were the sweetest little touches and the icing on the cake.  {Although nothing could compare to the actual icing on that bundt cake…it was so good!}

I wanted to bring in more pops of color, and what better way to do that than with balloons?  It was a party after all.  The Rose Gold Balloon Collection from Confetti Momma’s Etsy shop made quite a statement.  I loved the varrying shades of pink and burgandy.  They were simply lovely.

Kid’s Goodie Bags

There were going to be several children attending the shower and I wanted them to feel extra special and welcome, so I thought I’d put together little goodie bags for them.  Of course, I went all googly-eyed over these matching Bunny Gift Bags from Confetti Momma {have I mentioned yet how much I love her Etsy shop??!!}.  I got to customize these bags just like much of the decor, so I chose the baby pink ribbon once again along with champagne glitter bunnies.

I filled the gift bags with crayons and stickers and the youngest attendees were able to pick several coloring pages to color during the baby shower.  I think they enjoyed them if Molly’s sweet expression below isn’t evidence enough.

Bunny Tail Cotton Candy Favors

There was just enough money left over in the shower fund to do something else extra special. I wanted to treat everyone who came to the shower with a sweet thank you gift.  For some reason, cotton candy had been on my mind while researching bunny baby showers, and I thought it would be a cute idea to make cotton candy favors that looked like bunny tails.

I found a local gourmet cotton candy company who was able to not only make us fresh cotton candy but was also able to deliver it to my house!  Mandy at Spun Sugar Detroit was awesome to work with.  She makes Michigan-themed cotton candy flavors like Rock ‘N Rye, Mackinac Island Fudge, and Traverse City Cherry Pie which is the flavor I chose for our favors.

My hubby and I hurridly packed up the “bunny tails” right before I left for the baby shower.  It was a last minute detail that I absolutely loved.  I created the “bunny tail favor” gift tags on Canva.  You can download them here… A Sweet Ending Gift Tags.

Bundt Cake

I mentioned the bundt cake earlier, but it’s worth talking about again since it was so scrumptious. My hubby and I discovered this new little gem of a place near our house that sells bundt cakes and bundt cakes only.  I never thought I really liked bundt cakes, never had a reason for them, I could do without them.  But, then I tried a bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, and my life was forever changed.  Never did I ever think I’d fall in love with bundt cakes, but I did.  These cakes are the bomdiggity.

I knew the momma-to-be would love a fruity flavor and chose the seasonal special, Lemon Raspberry since she’s obsessed with Starbucks’ Lemon Pound Cake.  The bundt cake was lemony in the best of ways and oh so refreshing, with swirls of bright red raspberry, & draped with a thick irresistible cream cheese frosting.

Nothing Bundt Cakes was able to put the two-tiered cake together in about an hour or so.  It was a highlight of this baby shower, and our co-workers are still talking about it.  I can’t still taste it.  Great…now I need to run out to this bakery and get myself a bundlet {a small personal-sized bundt cake…yum!}.

“Isn’t She Lovely” Printables

I wanted the lyrics from the song “Isn’t She Lovely” displayed at the baby shower so I created my own printables to frame using my blog’s signature font and signature rose gold color.  It matched perfectly and was a nice additional gift to pack up for the mom-to-be to display.  In fact, it sounds like she may use these decorations for Stella’s first birthday party!  What an awesome way to reuse these gorgeous decorations!

Favorite Memories & Photos

Here are some photos I managed to take throughout the evening.  Of course, as always, I wish I would have gotten more pictures, but these few will have to do.  I was a beautiful evening celebrating Melissa and her baby girl.

Melissa, the mom-to-be, is the queen of making diaper cakes for our co-workers.  I had the best intentions of making one for her from the unit, but the last one I attempted to make ended up looking more like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  Our sweet co-worker, Kimi, and her lovely daughter put this princess diaper cake together for Melissa.  It was so cute and I’m so thankful that they were able to do that for her.  I think the tutu around the base and the tiara were my favorite parts!

I threw Kameron’s baby shower several years ago for his mommy and fellow nurse.  His mommy is now a dear friend that we see at least once a month for girls nights out.  He loves Melissa and little baby Stella too.  He even bought Stella a doll!  He was so excited to be celebrating with all of us ladies.

The only other little mister at the baby shower was baby Nicholas born just a couple weeks prior.  We were so excited to meet him and check in with his mommy, also named Melissa, since we missed seeing her at work.  It’s so fun to get to spend time with co-workers outside of the hospital.

Our friend, Nicole, attended the shower with her littles.  We used to work night shift together with our other friend, Abbi, also.  Working into the wee hours of the morning bonded us together and we’ve been the four musketeers ever since.  I’m so thankful for all of them and getting the chance to watch them get married and have their families.  How has time gone by so fast?

I was amazed at the outpouring of love for Melissa and Stella.  They received so many precious gifts including the big gift, her Britax Infant Car Seat & Stroller, from the mother-baby unit.  I could hardly hold back the tears.  We were just so thankful.

I met Melissa so many years ago when I first began dating her cousin {who’s now my sweet hubby}.  Little did I know we’d be spending hours together every week taking care of mommas and babies as nurses and become close friends.  I can’t wait to meet little Stella and watch her be a mommy.  I feel so blessed to call her my family and a friend.

Oh my goodness.  How could I forget that sweet little Everett was at the baby shower also with his mommy, Abbi? I guess we had three little guys and lots of little girls at the shower that day.  I got to snuggle him and catch up on his newborn happenings.  I had the privilege of taking care of him and his big sister Ruby at the hospital when they were both born. He napped comfortably on his mommy for most of the shower like a good little boy.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of this cute little bunny baby shower.  Now, I’m off to plan the next party!  I can’t wait!
