What To Pack To Wear On Your Babymoon
Here are some thoughts and ideas on what to pack to wear on your babymoon. Of course, your destination, time of year, season, and weather of your vacation location will affect this list and what you need to pack for your specific trip. For instance, if you’re going to an all-inclusive and plan to sit on the beach or by the pool all day and sip virgin frozen fruity drinks all day, then maternity swim suits may be on your list. If you’re boarding a cruise ship you may some formal wear. Use this list as a starting point and customize it based on your individual needs.
Comfortable Clothing
No matter if you’re traveling via car, plane, train, ship, etc. you’ll definitely need some comfortable clothing. I suggest dressing in outfits that you can layer if need be based on changing temperatures to keep you nice and comfortable. This could be something like a pair of leggings or joggers, paired with a tunic or breathable t-shirt, denim jacket or cardigan, and crossbody bag for those little essentials.
Comfortable Shoes
Don’t forget to pack a couple pairs of comfortable shoes, something that can expand with your feet should they swell after sitting in a car or on a plane for a long period of time. And, choose shoes that are supportive to avoid joint pain in your hips and knees while walking around and exploring.
Lots of Underwear
We all know that especially while pregnant, any little sneeze, coughing fit, or hilarious conversation can turn into an “accident”. Plus we sweat a whole lot more than we probably used too due to higher blood volumes and hormones. So don’t forget to pack plenty of underwear just in case and a few extra bras too.
Formal Attire
If you’re destination has fancier restaurants or requires a dress code for some events, you may need to pack some formal wear. If you don’t really want to invest in maternity formal wear that you’ll probably only wear once, check out Rent the Runway. They have a plethora of options to choose from, and it may be fun to try a few different styles especially while on vacation that you otherwise wouldn’t purchase or be able to afford.
Maternity Swimsuits
There are so many cute maternity swimsuits available these days, so go ahead and show that baby bump and enjoy that day at the pool or the beach. Here are a few of our favorite maternity swimsuits…
Belly Support Band
Another item that may be a lifesaver while traveling is a belly band. Wear this under your clothing to help support your growing bump and offer some relief to your hips and other joints. Many pregnant women swear by it.
Must-Have Toiletries To Pack For Your Babymoon
Don’t forget to pack all of your favorite toiletries plus these few items…
- Bug Spray
- Peri Pads
- Sunscreen
- Toothbrush/Toothpaste
- Skincare/Makeup
- Shampoo & Conditioner
Most Important Items To Pack For Your Babymoon
Above everything else, these are your definite must-haves to pack for your babymoon. If you are flying, I’d highly recommend packing these items and a few changes of clothes and undies in your carry on just in case your luggage gets lost in transit.
Compression Stockings
Compression stockings are super important to wear on long road trips or plane rides because they help prevent blood clots and swelling. You may be able to get a script from your healthcare provider for a pair, or you can purchase them on Amazon as well.
Medical Records
After getting the go-ahead from your doctor to travel, request a copy of your medical records to take with you on your trip just in case you do need medical attention while you’re away.
Insurance Card & I.D.
Obviously you’re going to need your I.D. to travel but don’t forget your insurance card. You may want to check with your insurance agency to find out where to get medical attention should you need too while on your trip. Some hospitals or medical centers may not be covered so it’s best to get that information ahead of time and hope you don’t need it.
Snacks
Don’t forget to pack some snacks. Preferably some snacks that are high in protein and nutrients to help you stay nourished and full. It may be hard finding something to eat on road trips or on airplanes, especially if you’re dealing with food aversions or nausea.
Medications
Bring your prenatal vitamins and any other medications you may need or have prescribed to you. Bring them in your purse or on your carry on so you don’t lost them.
Mini Fan/Mister
A miniature fan or mister may be an absolute godsend if you’re travel somewhere warm or even on a car ride or plane when you get overheated. Save the fan and mister for baby to enjoy during his or her first summer as well.
Water Bottle
Last but certainly not least, it’s incredibly important to stay hydrated during pregnancy especially while traveling so be sure to bring along your favorite refillable water bottle and drink up!
