Valentine’s Day Countdown
Let’s start with a really awesome Valentine’s Day countdown from The Dating Divas, my favorite website for marriage and family ideas. You can use the printable card ideas created by the ladies over at The Dating Divas, or you can add in your activities (maybe some from this list below). What would you include on your family’s Valentine’s Day countdown?
Family Chocolate Tasting
One of the fun activities you can do with your family is a simple chocolate tasting. You can print out these cards from The Dating Divas (you’ll see their ideas a lot on my website…love them!) or create your own. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Grab several different types of chocolate at the store and enjoy this fun activity after dinnertime with your kids.
Mission Valentine: Family Scavenger Hunt
Once again, The Dating Divas delivered the goods with this Mission Valentine idea. You can use their printable to create a scavenger hunt for your kids or for your hubby. What you decide to hide at the end is up to. Maybe it’s some valentines candy, an adventure, or a Valentine’s Day present. No matter how you use it, this idea is the bomb!
Valentine’s Day Heart Attack: Neighbor’s Edition
Now it’s time to spread the love and share the joy of Valentine’s Day with your neighbors, family, or friends. Simply print off the instructions, candy hearts, and heart attack sign and “litter” your loved one’s lawn and front door with extra love. You could even leave a special gift and encourage your neighbors, family, or friends, to keep the heart attack going by continuing to spread the love. I simply LOVE this idea!
Valentine’s Day Heart Attack: Kid’s Edition
I’ve seen this idea popping up on Facebook recently and think it is so lovely (pun intended). Every day in February leading up to Valentine’s Day, write something you love about each of your children or your spouse on a colorful heart to add to their door way.
Sure, we tell our kids all the time that we love them, but now it’s time to say what we love specifically. I think this will be a memory that they’ll remember for years to come.
Cupid’s Crazy Cafe: Family Valentine’s Dinner
Most people think that Valentine’s Day is for couples, but I think it’s a fun holiday for kids too. That’s why I had to include this cute idea (once again from The Dating Divas) for a special Valentine’s Day family dinner complete with a silly menu. Your kids will absolutely love this family tradition, I guarantee it! Definitely add Cupid’s Crazy Cafe to your list of Valentine’s Day family activities today! You won’t regret it!
Printable Candy Heart Memory Game
Family traditions don’t have to be super elaborate, and that’s why I love this simple idea from the Pint Sized Treasures blog. Add a quick game of Candy Heart Memory to your Valentine’s Day countdown activities, and I’m sure you’re kids will continue to play this for days to come.
Poke around on Pint Sized Treasures website to also find a printable Candy Heart Twister game also for another wonderful activity for your family to enjoy!
Valentine’s Day Lunch Notes
And, last but certainly not least, how about adding some Valentine’s Day lunch box notes or jokes to your child’s lunch box everyday? How fun for you kids to see these fun notes in their lunch reminding them of how much you love them. It’s a simple yet powerful gesture that they’ll love.

Make Valentine’s Day a fun time of year for your family and show them just how much you love and appreciate them with these family traditions. Which activity are you most looking forward too? Happy Valentine’s Day, friend!
