Kid’s Crafts & Activities

A friend of mine recently shared with me that her little boy is so excited for St. Patrick’s Day this year, because he has made a very elaborate leprechaun trap. He checks his trap every morning.  He’s engineering it in such a way that he is sure he will catch a little leprechaun this year.  This story just made me smile.

Aren’t kids the best?  Their imaginations and creativity inspire me.

Here I’ve compiled 22 of my favorite crafts and activities for kids to do this St. Patrick’s Day.  I’m so excited to share these amazing ideas with you…

Recipes, Activities, & Gift Ideas for St. Patrick's Day...

Isn’t this Eraser-Stamped Shamrock T-shirt just the cutest?  Pair it with a rainbow tutu or leggings, and your little leprechaun will be styling’ this St. Patrick’s Day. I also loved this Pom Pom Rainbow Art and the Leprechaun Handprint idea by “Life Is A Lullaby”. (I’m kinda partial to their website’s name too!)

I loved playing with buttons when I was a kid, so the Rainbow Button Project really spoke to my inner child.  This Rainbow Slime & Lime Jello Glitter Play Dough will also be a hit with the kids.  These creative festive noisemakers are a “enter at your own risk” kinda project for the parents who really embrace noise, but the Rainbow Twirler looks like an easy, yet super fun craft…and quieter.

How about spending your day going on a Lucky Treasure Hunt, or taking photos together with these Printable Photo Booth Props?  Or, maybe you could build your own Leprechaun Trap (for free printables click here), and set it up at the end of your Rainbow Yarn Trail.

Who says you can’t play with your food, when your food can look so pretty?  I bet your little ones would love making these Twizzler Necklaces or Loopy Rainbows.

These Shamrock Glasses and Printable Clover Lei will surely bring some giggles, as well as these Lucky Shamrock Wands & this Pot Of Gold Paper Necklace.  This glittery Rainbow Play Dough will create hours of play too, I’m sure.

I love Scavenger Hunts, and this printable scavenger hunt from The Dating Divas is about as cute as they come.  Send your kiddos on a hunt for their own little pots ‘o gold.  How special is that?

If you are looking for some relaxation and festiveness as well, print this detailed Shamrock Coloring Page, and enjoy coloring with your kids…or maybe during nap time?

Breakfast & Lunch Ideas

I love the idea of having special breakfasts and lunches for the kids, especially during the holidays.  I’m practically in love with Bento Boxes.  I think they are so creative, and make lunchtime so much fun.  These printable leprechaun jokes/notes (click here & here) for the lunch box are another way to make this time of year special for your kids.

I also really like the idea of having a special breakfast the morning of St. Patrick’s Day that includes Rainbow Pancakes, Rainbow Fruit Kabobs, Green Milk, & even maybe these awesome Twix Cereal Bowls.  Check out these Free Breakfast Printables to make this morning extra unique.

50+ Activities, Recipes, & Traditions....Gifts/Surprises

Have you heard of the new tradition of “Shamrocking” your neighbors?  The Dating Divas have an adorable printable, that encourages you to surprise your neighbors, friends, or family with some festive goodies to brighten up their day.  I think it’s wonderful to appreciate our neighbors, family and friends with little gifts and surprises like this.

Who in your life would love to receive a pot of gold like this one, or these Rainbow Seeds? Or, maybe you have someone in mind that would love these adorable Candy Tubes or Rainbows In A Bag?  Who says you can’t give special meaningful gifts during St. Patrick’s Day too.  I mean, I always get gifts since it’s my birthday, but let’s share the love of rainbows and clovers with our friends and family by gifting some of these cute ideas.  I’m sure they will love them.
