Life Lately: Throwback Date Night In Box

I’m sure we’re not the only couple in the world that has a hard time fitting date night into our already busy schedules. So, knowing that this one-on-one time to connect with each other regularly is so valuable, we were thrilled when Date Night In offered to send us a box to try.

Now, several months and many date boxes later, we wouldn’t dream of going a single month without them. To us, these Date Night In Boxes are irreplaceable and help us create the coziest, simple, and fun dates at home.

We have enjoyed game nights, painting parties at our kitchen table, displayable crafts {meaning stuff that we’ve actually made together and proudly displayed on our mantle because we’re just that pround of it}, and much more. The Date Night In boxes are so creatively and beautifully curated with everything we need to have a unique date night at home, and March’s box was just that and did not disappoint. This month’s Date Box was a throwback theme that helped us relive the 80’s and 90’s with special games, karoake, and nostalgic candies. It was so much fun!

This month’s box came with sunglasses, a rubicks cube, some fun pens and candies, some games and a discussion guide, and even a blow-up microphone which was perfect for karaoke.

The included guide book included fun recipes including homemade dunkaroos {remember those??} and homemade ice pops. It also includes talking points and suggestions for ways to carry over your date night with movie options or activities. This month’s activities included going to a local arcade and playing Pac-Man or going rollerskating…all things we remember and loved from our teen years.

I am literally the worst at trivia, but Adam loves it. I keep telling him to apply to be a contestant on Jeopardy and win us some money! Ha! I had fun quizzing him with this Gnarly Trivia. He got almost all of them right, obviously. I wouldn’t have known any of them. Oiy!

I, on the other hand, was an avid M.A.S.H player back in the day. How ’bout you? It was like our safe, Christian version on fortune telling, don’t ya think? We had fun filling out our M.A.S.H. game with real and silly answers and were excited to learn that we’ll travel to Africa, retire in Orlando with Mickey and Minnie, have twins, see all 50 states, and clone a dinosaur….totally radical, dude!

We thoroughly enjoy our Date Night In boxes. We belly laughed so much during this date night thanks to karaoke and truth or dare. He showed off his moon walk and we shared our junior high heart throbs {hello, Zack Morris}. It was something that we never would’ve thought of doing together without this wonderful box.
