Summer Bucket List Ideas For Families
Summertime is the perfect opportunity for families to spend some quality time together. But with the kids out of school and everyone’s schedules running rampant, it can be tough to find things to do that everyone will enjoy. If you’re looking for some inspiration, here are a few ideas for items to add to your summer bucket list:
Turn Your Backyard Into Your Own Splash Zone
Most people think of their backyard as a place to relax. But why relax when you can make a splash? With a little imagination, your backyard can become your very own water park. Start by adding a Slip ‘N Slide. Then add a sprinkler or two for good measure. If you really want to get wild, turn on the hose and let the water wars begin. Just be sure to keep the hose away from the electrical socket. When you’re done making waves, dry off with a nice cold lemonade. Ahh, the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day. So what are you waiting for? Turn your backyard into your own personal Splash Zone. You’ll be glad you did.
Make Homemade Ice Cream
There’s nothing like a cold, creamy scoop of ice cream on a hot summer day. Of course, store-bought ice cream is convenient, but it’s also expensive and often contains artificial ingredients. Making your own ice cream at home is surprisingly easy, and it’s a great way to enjoy a tasty treat without breaking the bank.
To make homemade ice cream, you’ll need heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Start by heating the milk and cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the mixture comes to a simmer, add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Then, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Next, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once it’s finished churning, transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for several hours until firm.
Spend The Day At The Lake or the Beach
There’s nothing quite like a day spent at the lake or the beach. The sun, the sand, the water… it’s the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. And if you’re looking for a little fun and excitement, there’s plenty of that to be had as well. From swimming and sunbathing to picnicking and fishing, there’s something for everyone at the lake or the beach.
And that’s a wrap! We hope you enjoyed our list of summer activities to do with kids. From arts and crafts to outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone. We’ll be taking a break from posting for the rest of the summer, but we’ll be back in the fall with fresh ideas for fun family activities. In the meantime, keep cool and have fun!
